Dear PHA Member,
More information on city sanitation services including bulky trash can be found on DallasZeroWaste.com.
Place bulky trash items on your curb no earlier than the Thursday before Bulky Trash Week and no later than the Monday of Bulky Trash Week, the first Monday of the month . The city drives the streets on Monday to determine how many trucks to assign for pick up so please have your trash out by 7:00 AM Monday morning.
Please do not put any kind of plastic bags in the recycle bins. They get tangled in the recycling machinery. Plastic bags go into your regular trash.
Cardboard boxes are recyclable items which should be folded and placed in your blue recycling carts for Tuesday pick up.
Paint, light bulbs and electronics are recycled separately and do not go into Bulk Trash. Please call 214-670-9564 to have electronics, including large TVs picked up at your home, for a fee. Best Buy accepts smaller electronics. Lowes accepts CFLs (compact fluorescent light bulbs). Paint and other chemicals: Dallas County Home Chemical Collection Center, 11234 Plano Road, 214-553-1765.
The City of Dallas does patrol neighborhoods for bulk trash violators and has increased code enforcement for bulk trash violators. Such violators are subject to a citation and a MINIMUM FINE OF $200.00. To report debris in violation of the bulk trash ordinance, call 311 (anonymously, if you desire).
Consider the placement of the trash to keep the sidewalk clear as much as possible for pedestrians. Clear low hanging trees and wide bushes on the sidewalks and alleyways. Trimming these make it easier for all our neighbors to enjoy and use public spaces.
Look up dallascityhall.com, call 311, or visit the prestonwood.net website for more details about how to responsibly recycle.
